Enrique Domas grew up with a passion for the flamenco guitar but never studied it until he was 28 years old. There were no teachers of this style in his hometown of Phoenix Arizona, so he taught himself by listening to the great flamenco artists of the day. When the opportunity arose, he traveled to Spain where he spent time to further his studies of the guitar and the Spanish language. While in Spain, Enrique played various guitars but none had the sound he wanted; the lush bass mixed with the bright, mellow high tones. When he was introduced to Carl Samuels, builder of classical and flamenco "Lutars", Enrique said: "This is the best guitar I've ever heard or played". Besides being a flamenco guitarist, Enrique is a trained opera singer who sang with the Arizona Opera. He is also an accomplished flamenco dancer. His fans have labeled him "The Flamenco Swan".
